The social media landscape continues to change with more and more platforms, and brands are making great strides and connections. But is there a place for government communications? Where should we direct our energy? In this session, we will look at new and emerging social media platforms, new features from existing social media platforms and weigh pros and cons from a local government lens.

Presenter:

Jordan Gilgenbach has been the Digital Communications Coordinator for the City of Minneapolis since September 2016, and focuses primarily on web, social and other digital communications strategy and implementation.

Jordan has spent his entire career in local government communications, previously having worked for the City of Edina, Minn. as Communications Coordinator. He lives in Owatonna, Minn. with his wife and six-year-old daughter, Lucy.
