Current Position and how long

Communications Specialist, 8 years

Why do you want to be a Minnesota Association of Government Communicators board member?

Being a board member of MAGC for the past four years has been incredible and I feel that there are so many more exciting opportunities for growth and new things we can do to serve our members.

I'd love to continue to use my skills to maintain and enrich the offerings of MAGC so others can enjoy connections with peers, learning sessions, and opportunities to share and evolve in their work.

What skills, knowledge or expertise do you bring to the board?

I am a storyteller, a connector, and a planner. I think my skills will be an asset to MAGC and its members in many ways, including planning and coordinating the Northern Lights Awards.

I also work for the fourth largest municipality in the state and bring with me that experience, as well as my earlier experience working in a one-person communications shop at a small town school district.

What else would you like us to know about you as a candidate for the MAGC board?

I bring a positive attitude to everything I do. And I love MAGC! It has truly impacted my work and career through the things I've learned and connections I've made as a member.

Giving back through service is important to me. I have been an MAGC board member for four years, a Northern Lights Awards Contest committee co-chair and an MAGC communications committee member.
